Warren Ross, M.D.
Dr. Ross has been practicing aesthetic medicine for 10 years. He is a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Medicine and is board certified in Internal Medicine. He has practiced Internal Medicine for thirty years and during that time he has integrated strategies to promote optimal health for his patients. He has integrated conventional medical practice with Complementary/Alternative Medicine. These strategies are reviewed in a series of articles on the Integrative Medicine at Crossroads.
Aesthetic Medicine incorporates components of Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Anti Aging Medicine, Dermatology, and the non surgical components of Plastic Surgery. Its goal is to help people enhance their personal appearance and reduce the unwanted effects of the aging process on the face and body. Dr. Ross's goal is to produce an enhanced sense of well-being and an improved personal effectiveness in a society that exhibits a preference for youthfulness. In addition, Dr. Ross has integrated strategies for the management of chronic health problems such as acne which are safer than conventional medical strategies.
Dr. Ross has made a commitment to excellence in the field of Aesthetic Medicine by emphasizing the use of techniques that are safe and effective, and providing our patients with access to an excellent staff with the most modern equipment to create the desired results. He emphasizes safety by insisting on the use of FDA approved materials purchased directly from the manufacturers.
Paulina Collins, R.N., L.E.
Paulina is the Director of Medical Skin Therapeutics. She brings enthusiasm, joy, and a lifelong love of cosmetics and skincare to her job.
In her teens and as a young adult, Paulina's skin was oily and she suffered from breakouts. She had a natural instinct towards beauty, and she tried every department store product line in search of the perfect skin care routine.
Paulina is a registered nurse. As a nurse, she enjoyed working with people, but she wanted something more that would integrate health, wellness, and prevention.
In 1994, she attended her first school makeup course, and began freelancing as a makeup artist. Paulina did makeup for weddings, proms, and other special events, as well as providing expertise in camouflage makeup to cover problem areas.
In 1996, Paulina completed her esthetics course. She expanded her repertoire to include salon work and additional freelance makeup work. However, Paulina realized that she wanted to devise a way to synthesize the medical aspects of skin care with the esthetic aspects of cosmetology. She joined a plastic surgery practice in Baltimore and began to explore ways to merge medical and esthetic skin care.
In 2001, Paulina joined RiverHill Wellness and co-founded Medical Skin Therapeutics with Dr. Ross. Here, she has been able to implement her ideas of integrated health, wellness, and prevention along with an elegant fusion of medical skin care with esthetic skin care.
And what type of skin does Paulina have? She has combination skin with an oily T-zone, and a tendency towards thick skin. You'd never guess it from looking at her smooth, glowing skin!
Margie Baratta, R.N.
Margie Baratta joined the staff of Medical Skin Therapeutics in January of 2007. She is a Registered Nurse with extensive prior experience as a Hospital Staff Nurse at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She has also served as an adjunct Nurse Educator at CCBC in Catonsville, MD. Her many years of clinical experience caring for people and problem solving combined with an interest in Medical Aesthetics transferred easily into her current position. Margie is interested in wellness and loves the challenge of educating her clients as they add advanced skin care to their daily regime.
She is a member of The American Academy of Medical Esthetics Professionals. In addition to on site training, she completed classes at the Esthetic Skin Institute in Florida in Laser and IPL therapy as well as chemical peeling and microdermabrasion. She has also completed professional courses offered by Obagi Systems as well as Cosmedix and Results Rx. She has attended educational seminars offered by Palomar Medical Technologies and received on site training for the Fraxel Laser. Additional courses for Botox and Dermal Filler administration was completed through Cosmedical Training Institute, LLC. Margie recently received advanced training in the administration of Radiesse® and certification in Epidermal Leveling.
Christine Kelly, R.N.
Christine Kelly, R.N. joined the staff of Medical Skin Therapeutics in March of 2011. Christine is a Registered Nurse with over twenty years of clinical experience in Hospital, Home and Geriatric Care. She has also worked throughout the years in Healthcare Case Management.
Christine has completed educational classes at the Esthetic Skin Institute in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida with additional training in dermal fillers. She has also obtained certifications in skin assessment and conditions, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. She has had extensive training from Allergan on the use of JuvedermTM fillers and Botox® and by clinical trainers from Merz Aesthetics in the use of Radiesse®. Christine has apprenticed in laser and light therapy treatments under MST's founder and director, Paulina Collins. Her broad knowledge of skin care home regimens was provided by training courses at ESI, and those offered by Obagi and Cosmeceuticals, Inc.
Christine loves working in Aesthetic Medicine and that is evident in her enthusiasm with each individual client. She enjoys working with people and helping them feel good about their own unique, beautiful skin!
