After 10 years in business, the staff of Medical Skin Therapeutics knows how to adapt and keep current in the ever-evolving medical spa market.
Paulina Collins, a registered nurse and licensed esthetician, is one of
the founders of Medical Skin Therapeutics, an Ellicott City medi-spa that is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
"We try to reach people of all ages and skin types," says Paulina Collins, a registered nurse and licensed esthetician who founded the spa with its director, Dr. Warren Ross. "This is an ever-changing business for one thing, and we're always trying to keep up with current trends. Right now, a really big service is laser hair removal."
The Ellicott City medi-spa, which celebrated its 10th anniversary in November, offers services like BOTOX®, facials, permanent makeup and more.
In the fall of 2010, the spa moved to a larger space at the Crossroads Medical Center to accommodate a growing clientele. The suite includes a waiting area, retail shop and four treatment rooms. Every month, Medical Skin Therapeutics offers seminars on treatments and products.
"Education is an important piece people are looking for when it comes to skin care," says Collins. "People are looking to us to help them develop a personalized skin-care program at home that meets their needs and their budget."
Preventive measures are a critical part of any skin-care regimen, Collins adds. "You can prevent a lot of skin-care problems with a few simple steps, a healthy diet consisting of fruits and veggies, and exercise," she says.
The spa's retail shop carries a variety of products, such as Clarisonic Mia and Opal skin-care products, spa and bath items, scented candles, and the complete line of Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup, including a limited edition holiday collection.
